Deputy Assistant of the State Secretary of USA Matthew Brisa on the press-conference in Tbilisi on May 9 claimed the authorities of Russia to refuse from cooperation with South Ossetia and Abkhazia. He called the cooperation between these republics “provocative”. We’ll remind that it is a question of cooperation mainly in the spheres of culture, education, health protection etc.
“We think that these activities from the direction of Russia, the decision of Russia to refuse from the sanctions established by CIS in regard to Abkhazia is an impedimental factor in establishing peace in Abkhazia”, stated the diplomat.
If we throw away the word veil then actually Matthew Brisa stated that Ossets and Abkhazians must constantly live in blockade conditions and under the non-stopping threat of military invasion from the direction of Georgia. American diplomacy is not shy of acclaiming to such medieval wildness at the dawn of the XXI century.
To his opinion Osset children should not have higher education, more over even school one. At the same time, as it is convinced Matthew Brisa they also must not know their native language. That is why he demands stopping cooperation of Russia with South Ossetia in the sphere of education and he finds that Saakashvili’s steps are right, the police of which took away even school textbooks of Osset language from Osset children of Georgia.
The American diplomat thinks that that confiscation of textbooks from Osset children, encouragement of armed provocations from the direction of Georgia, blockades and shootings of peaceful towns and villages, kidnapping of civilian people by Georgian special services and killing of peacekeepers are the factor assisting to establishing peace.
Russia, according to the opinion of the representative of the State Department of the USA, must support the steps of the President of Georgia Michael Saakashvili in regard to South Ossetia.
We will remind these steps: economic blockade of Osset villages of South Ossetia since May 24, 2004, armed invasion into South Ossetia on May 31, 2004, intensive artillery firing upon Tskhinval and Osset villages of South Ossetia from June to August 2004, murders of servicemen of peacekeeping forces on October 12, 2004, mortar shooting upon Tskhinval on the day of national holiday on September 20, 2005, mass beating of more than 50 civilian residents of Osset villages on May 27, 2006, terrorist acts in Tskhinval in 2005-2008 which resulted in death of over ten people, military blockade of Osset villages, where are not admitted even ambulances from March to April 2008.
This list may be lasted. But is it worth? It is clear all the same who occupies provocative position and who encourages the latter.
