Sportsmen of South Ossetia will take part in the competitions of the Southern Federal Okrug

Sport league of the people of the Southern Federal Okrug holds competitions. The combined team of the Republic of South Ossetia will also go to the competitions. This information was provided by the Deputy Minister of Sport, Culture and Tourism of the RSO Vladimir Tedeev.

The competitions are held under the devise “Sport – you are peace! You ascertain healthy and friendly relations between peoples! You are concord!”

The aim of holding sport competitions is developing cultural international relations between peoples of the Southern Federal Okrug, raising the sport skill, revealing the stronger sportsmen and regions, propaganda of healthy way of life.

The general leadership, training and competitions will be implemented by the Federal Agency on Physical Culture and Sport of the Department on Physical Culture and Sport of the Krasnodar Krai and Olympic Academy of the South of Russia.

The competitions will take place since 6 to 11 October in the village Suckko of the Krasnodar Krai on the basis of federal children health-improving center “Smena”.

“South Ossetia and Abkhazia were invited to the competitions. 35 people will represent us in mini-football, free wrestling, chess, judo, sambo.

Two months ago it took place a meeting of leading organs of the Southern Federal Okrug with the participation of the representatives of Rostov, Krasnodar, Volgograd, Vladikavkaz, Sokhumi, Chechnya, Kabardino-Balkaria, the RSO etc. where we discussed all the details. At first we intended to hold competitions among grown-ups but I proposed that the participants where born in 1992-1995. My proposal was accepted”, underlined Vladimir Tedeev.
